The Certified Institute of Hospitality Tourism and Management currently offers bachelor’s, master’s and Doctorate Degrees programs of affiliated universities on Distance Learning and Part-Time basis.
For those interested in careers in attractive fields of the service industry, our goal is to offer highly professional preparation in order to facilitate:
- work in middle to upper management in hotel chains, other establishments in the travel and tourism industry and other allied fields,
- doing business in the field of hotels, gastronomy, travel and tourism and other allied fields,
- securing a management position in numerous other fields.
Achieving this goal requires steady attention to high quality instruction, enriching it with the newest professional knowledge and trends, and combining theory with practice. More than 80 percent of instruction is carried out by part-time lecturers who are working to constantly improve the quality of instruction. A select number of specialized courses are taught by experts with experience in the field and from other universities.

The Certified Institute of Hospitality Tourism and Management currently offers instruction in two modern and fully air-conditioned lecture halls, computer classrooms and several auditoriums fully equipped for multi-media presentations, including a space with state-of-the-art technology for practical and laboratory instruction – a gastronomical lecture hall, restaurant and kitchen with training facilities, saloons, and two bars for training sommeliers and bartenders. Wi-fi access is available on the entire campus so that students may have the possibility to connect to the internet at any time.
In 2008 the study rooms were completely modernized and a large number of computer stations were installed with high-speed internet access. The rooms also provide space for studying – including a reading room, photocopy machines and computer printers. There is also a library for use by students and staff, and a place to buy printed study materials. The best professional and specialized university materials are available from our own faculty and adjunct instructors for all subjects taught at the Institute.
Instruction in the Czech language
The aim of the Bachelor’s major field of study of Hospitality Management, Tourism and Marketing focuses on theoretical and primarily on practical preparation of students for their work. The programme is segmented into three specializations.
- Hospitality Management focuses on the field of accommodation services and gastronomy,
- Travel and Tourism focuses on the field of destination management,
- Marketing focuses on the field of marketing services.
Duration of the Bachelor’s programme is 2, 3, 4 & 5 years (max. 5 years). The CIHTM offers either Distance Learning or part-time forms of studies. This study programme is completed by the state final examinations and the defence of the Bachelor’s Dissertation. Graduates obtain the title of “Bachelor” (abbr. BSc.)
Where can you be employed?
All graduates are prepared to hold key operation positions across a range of businesses, in hotel, tourism, marketing companies and other sectors of the economy. They can hold managerial positions in small and medium-sized enterprises, including in management of small family businesses. The studies develop the art of planning, organizing and managing, as well as the abilities to effectively manage and deal with human resources issues.
Graduates of the Hospitality Management specialization can work in national and international businesses providing hotel and gastronomy services, and also in spa and wellness establishments and other enterprises dealing in the travel and tourism industry.
Graduates of the Tourism specialization can find their job in various managerial positions in destination management organizations, tourism information centres, travel agencies and other businesses dealing in the travel and tourism industry.
Graduates of the Marketing specialization can be employed in all fields of services, e.g. as press spokespersons, in the field of public relations, in publishing houses of newspapers and magazines, in company magazines and other mass-media.

Graduates of the Hospitality Management specialization can hold positions in middle and higher management of hotel companies globally, in the field of economic and marketing management of hotels and other enterprises dealing in services, in advisory and analytic fields, as well as in the management of their own hotels, gastronomy businesses and other allied fields.
Graduates of the Tourism specialization can hold managerial positions in destination management organizations, as leading managers in the state administration bodies, in travel agencies, marketing organizations, in national and international businesses of the travel and tourism industry.
Graduates of the Marketing specialization can get managerial positions in companies and organizations dealing in marketing and communications, in the field of public relations, in state administration bodies, they can deal with marketing analytical issues, as well as they can work in their own businesses focusing on promotional and advertising issues, and on public relations.

CIHTM offers over 7 universities curriculum for both Africa and international students. In order for students to successfully fulfill their responsibilities – lectures, seminars, exercises, written work, exams and tests, theses, etc., all students, including foreigners, must be able to write and communicate in English Language..

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with minimum of Second Class Honors (Lower Division) in relevant disciplines, Birth Certificate & International Passport.

- Applicants for the Ph.D. degree programme shall have obtained a relevant Master degree of this or other recognized University, with an average weighted score of at least 60%. Short-listed candidates would be required to satisfy the Postgraduate School in the qualifying interviews and assessments by the relevant Department. Applicants are, therefore, advised to interact with the department to which they have applied to ascertain the date of the interview for the Ph.D. degree programme. Regardless of the Institution where the Master degree was obtained, all candidates must apply early for the official copy of their academic transcripts to be sent to the Head of Department where the admission is being sought for the purpose of this admission and before the expiration of the stated deadline.
Requirements for acceptance to the part-time studies in the academic year 2020/2021
1) Evidence about work experience before the commencement of studies:
- Employment before the commencement of studies is compulsory at the minimum length of 12 months, min. 20 hours per week (in case it is not documented at the time of the commencement). Total prolongation of employment can be documented by more than one employer.
- Self-employment at minimum 12 months.
2) Evidence about work experience at the point of the commencement:
- Work experience at the time of study commencement (min. 20 hours per week).
- Self-employment trade list.
- In case of maternity leave it is necessary to submit statutory declaration and the birth certificate of the baby.
Above mentioned conditions for admission of an applicant are confirmed by the fulfilment of this form. The form is due to be submitted on day of enrolment procedure.
In case of non-meeting some of the above stated requirements an applicant can consult his/her situation with the CIHTM Registrar for Academic Affairs who is authorized to decide on individual conditions for the applicant´s enrolment into studies.
